Favourite Hair Looks from NYFW & TRESemmé Giveaway

With the second leg of Fashion Month in full swing, I’m sharing a wrap up of some of my favourite hair looks from New York Fashion Week, in collaboration with TRESemmé. Used by professionals, the high-quality haircare brand celebrated their 18th season as NYFW’s official haircare sponsor.  As always, all opinions are my own.

This season so many of the backstage looks created had a dreamy, effortless finesse to it which I loved, and came as no surprise when I later read that the TRESemmé hair team was led by the amazing Justine Marjan. I’ve loved Marjan’s work for the longest time since she is known for being the guru behind some of the best tresses in Hollywood (like my ultimate girl crush, Olivia Culpo), so it’s awesome knowing us regular girls are getting the same runway-ready, star treatment when we’re using TRESemmé.

Justine’s seemingly natural-looking or “imperfectly perfect” current aesthetic really comes through in all of the looks. This idea “imperfection” and nod to individuality has really been the biggest, strongest beauty trend for a few seasons now, and judging by the hair and make-up for this recently-wrapped fashion week, the trend is here to stay. I loved how so many looks had a cool-girl, attainable sense of ease.

On that note, these were a few of my favourite backstage hair looks:

Carolina Herrera

Although this low ponytail has a sleek and more perfect finish, it still embodies the feeling of being effortlessly elegant. I love that this classic look is still celebrated season after season since it really is the most versatile and comfortable hairstyle ever. Perfect for everything from a black-tie event to the gym or a meeting, it’s as pretty as it is practical.

Naeem Khan

The messy updo’s seen at this show feature the perfect balance between punk-rock and princess, topped off with an unrivalled cool-girl vibe.

Jenny Packam
The romantic feel of this loose, pulled-back look once again gave us the sweet reminder of the beauty in imperfection.

Creatures of Comfort

The hair looks at this show were varied but all of them celebrated textures, ease and individuality. The natural and easy feel seemed to echo the “We Are All Human”  message in their politically-charged tees.
