Chelsea Wichmann by Alexander Neumann for Fashion Gone Rogue

How amazing is the styling in this shoot? I just had to share it.

So today I experienced a real eye-opener. On my way to work my car slid on the wet tar and I rammed into the side of a barrier on De Waal Drive in Cape Town (for those who don’t know where it is, it’s along Table Mountain). The car hit with such a force I don’t know how I am not more injured, how that barrier stayed in place and how I didn’t plummet down the side of the mountain. Because of the nature of the accident’s occurrence, I can’t help but feel so blessed; so many things could have gone really wrong and it didn’t. I’m in bed aching all over and whiplashed from the impact, with a lot of healing, physio and pain-killers ahead, but in 3-4 short weeks I should be fine :)
As cheesy and whimsical as it may sound, it really made me see what a gift each day is. I am going to try not to put my energy and love into things that simply don’t deserve it, because if you live each day as if it’s your last, you wouldn’t waste it on futile matters or people. Instead you’d ruthlessly milk your life and its opportunities for the privileges they are and thank those who love and appreciate you. I could complain about all the bad things that has happened to me this month, but I’ll rather choose to see it as blessings of growth that I know I’ll get through.

Just a few bumps in the road.

Keen to soldier on, yes?
