Make-Up Look – Copper

Hi hi guys! So for today’s post I’m trying something new, a beauty look post. Like an outfit post, but on my face :) here you get a better look at one of my new eyelash styles called ‘Aisha’. I’m in love with these lashes for so many reasons! They have a durable, invisible band and are so light, whispy and romantic. If you’re like me and not very into liquid liner, they’re the perfect finish to your eye make-up :)

Now that I finally have my ring light and some blue eyes to go along with it, I can do a better job at filming for my YouTube channel too, without the stress of daylight fading suddenly! In future, I’d love to include a tutorial at the end of each one and of course the list of products I used.

For me, applying make-up is all about balancing the volume or “thickness”, i.e., not layering it on thick all over (my personal preference) but I still love some drama, so I love an eye that’s bold in its volume, a medium-to bold lip and fresh, glowing skin.  I created this same make-up look a few months back for Aisha’s black tie wedding (click here to see my amaze dress from that night!), after seeing it a few days before on Kim Kardashian at a Cannes event. Ever since, one of my favourite make-up looks to do is a statement under eye (all crazy shades welcome!), a shimmery neutral lid, lashes, lightweight and dewy skin complete with a nude or glossy lip.

This look photographed slightly more peachy than it actually was in person. Off-camera, the eye was more of a gold bronze, and the lip is way more of a cool beige nude, but I still love how it looks here.

I almost always go for a lightweight, skin-like foundation, and in this case I opted for a gentle powder contour on my cheeks and nose only. I’ve always preferred a powder contour to a cream contour, it feels and looks lighter, especially once you’ve blended all the layers with a face mist like MAC’s Fix+ spray.

Lastly, I’m SO GLAD messy hair and crazy flyaways are now a thing. I’m always the girl with the messy hair, it never stays put, so I’m just gonna own it from now on ;)
