I only found out I was going to Munich about 12 hours before my flight. Furthermore, I’d never really known what Oktoberfest was! I wikipediaed that ish, and found out it’s the biggest beerfest and fun fair in the world, dates back over a century, and is the original festival that inspired all the other October Festivals in the world. Still, when I heard the beer fest part, I was a little two-minded about going, because obviously I don’t drink beer.
However two of my non-drinking colleagues were keen to act 10 years old with me and indulge in rollercoasters, candy floss, games and French crepes. ‘Twas wunderbaar!
