Statement Earrings You Should Totally Try

IMG_2463

Statement earrings have been major for quite some time now, and I recently picked up these four pairs which I’ve been rotating with so many of my outfits, especially when they seem a little lacklustre. I’ve always been a statement earring kinda girl and years ago I would head to the Indian trade fairs when they would come to Cape Town because they always had the biggest and most OTT earrings you could possibly imagine! Thankfully, a girl doesn’t have to make seasonal missions anymore or always wear something that big for an impact.

Check out some of my favourite statement earrings right now and where to get them or purchase something similar online:

HOOPS:

Hoop earrings have the ability to bring a sleek feel to your look and can also channel sexy J.Lo circa 2001 vibes. I found this rose gold pair at Lovisa and I’ve been hooked, teaming them with everything from track tops to minimalist dresses. You get extra style points when paired with a striking lip colour and middle-parted, slicked-back hair.

My pair: Lovisa, R110

CLIP-ON ‘C’ RINGS

With everyone still very much deep in their 90’s and 2000’s feels, sleeper earrings have become a must. I loved this pack of clip on rings I found at Lovisa, it comes with about 20 rings in three different sizes, in shades of silver, gold and rose gold. I always loved the look of multiple sleeper earrings going up the back of the ear, and thanks to this multi pack I can easily get the look without actually having to pierce anything. The rings can also double up as faux septum, brow and hair piercings, while also making a great lip ring àla Kimmy K.

My set: Lovisa, R200

TASSELS & FRINGE:

I’ve been wearing tassel earrings for years but since fringe was such a huge trend last year, I recently got into them even more. As a cheesy lover of 1920s fashion, I can still see myself wearing these for seasons to come. Generally they add a bohemian or vintage finish to an ensemble, but I particularly loved this pair because the woven bauble on top and the bright red colour brings adds an oriental edge. The bauble is also removable, so you can change up the look ever so slightly.

My pair: Lovisa, R220

PICHULIK

Pichulik pieces are a must for every South African fashion girl, with their pieces are just as loved abroad and have even been featured in Italian Vogue! I bought this pair online and it was available in two sizes. I’m seriously so obsessed with these and love that I get to support a local brand.
