Lisa shot this for me at the airport just before I left to London last week, with the idea that I would upload the pictures from her memory card to my Mac immediately, then publish them in a wifi zone before I got onto the plane. I called it a “Polaroid Post”. Wishful thinking!
I was stressed, excited and nervous for this trip where I would be meeting, interviewing and hanging out with Rita Ora for two days, as well as eleven other incredible influencers/bloggers from around the world. In the words of adidas South Africa, “Rita chose you herself, and we’re really proud of you.” Talk about excitement and pressure! I couldn’t sleep on the plane, mulling everything over in my head, as if things would actually go according to plan during the 26.5 hours Rita had crammed activities into for us in London. It was all part of the official launch of her adidas Originals X Rita Ora #Unstoppable collaboration, and most definitely the highlight of my blogging career to date. Things like this happen to international bloggers all the time, but sadly I can’t “keep calm and carry on” – it was major in too many ways, and with a brand I have loved and respected my whole life.
I have so much to share about this trip, but we’ll start at the beginning with this pre-flight look.
