OG

I never quite fancied myself a monochrome girl, but boy did I enjoy this one! I attended the adidas Performance launch of the collab with Stella McCartney, and naturally I was decked out to show them love. One of the many reasons why I love adidas events is that you get to dress street, and it’s borderline inappropriate if you don’t. There’s nothing like the feeling of wearing dope kicks, complete with fresh hair and a sweep of lip gloss.

Just a few days before the event, adidas SA made my shoe collection’s year already by sending me the vintage Original Superstars. I had a pair when I was twelve, and wore them until they broke. I harassed the adidas Originals team constantly asking them whennnnn will the original Superstar come back, as I’d noticed it was being foreshadowed in a few of their collab collections, like the Colour Block Pack by Rita Ora. I didn’t want a quirky collab or variation – I needed the real OG! As I mentioned before, closer to the end of year, they could finally confirm with me 2015 was going to be the year of the Superstar. The campaign is pretty next level, featuring Pharell, David Beckham and Rita Ora. You can view the video

My milkmaid braids are a forgotten go-to style I always adopted during exam time at varsity when no one had time for a ghd. I seldom tolerated a bad hair day back then, and used the morning traffic as the opportunity to style up my tresses. Apparently braids are a thing now too, so I guess it works out.
